Assembly Speaker John Gard (R-Peshtigo [er, Sun Prairie--ed.]) said if Doyle again vetoes the [photo ID] requirement, he would move to make it part of the state constitution, a two-year process that requires a statewide referendum but does not require the approval of the governor.

"The next presidential election in Wisconsin, I guarantee you'll need a photo ID to vote," said Gard, who is running for the U.S. House. "I'll get this done if it is the last thing I do around here."
Throw in the elimination of the QEO and you got yourself a deal!
